CONGRATULATIONS to our SHINING STAR winners this half term! ;)
14.10.22 It was our Topic Quiz morning and the children blew us away with what they had learnt this half term about themselves. They loved the physical challenges we set them that they then made their own trim trail to try something new. They were also able to talk about similarities and differences between themselves and their friends. What a great way to end of topic!
13.10.22 The Gingerbread Man has been our traditional tale this half term and the children really enjoyed watching the staff acting it out and they joined in at times too!
12.10.22 We had lots of fun trying to create our own repeating patterns using large sheets of paper and dobbers!
7.10.22 To celebrate NATIONAL POETRY DAY we had lots of fun exploring and listening to a variety of poems from The Children's Poetry Archive.
We took a closer look at the poet Wes Magee and his poem The Boneyard Rap. We loved listening to it, joining in with some actions and finding out more about our bodies at the same time!
7.10.22 We have been looking at the similarities and differences between ourselves over the last two weeks and we wanted to make a rainbow with pictures of ourselves. Here are some photos of us creating the pictures using body templates and oil pastels.
6.10.22 It was great fun to see all of the children looking through their Learning Journeys and sharing all of their achievements with each other.
30.9.22 This week's TIME TO SHINE had all of the children taking selfies with our I-pads. It was so much fun!
30.9.22 The Autumn group investigated MATCHING objects from around the classroom that are the SAME
29.9.22 This week's Vipers book was Kicking a Ball by Allan Ahlberg and we explored different types of balls and what we could do with them. Mrs Page then brought in a funny shaped ball which bounced in different directions and we had lots of fun as we had no idea where it was going to go!
22.9.22 This week's Vipers book was Head to Toe by Eric Carle and we enjoyed reading it so much we had a go at moving like the animals too!
16.9.22 It was our first Time to Shine on Friday and we had a go at using our new I-pads to take photos. It was great fun and made everyone laugh with some of the funny photos we took.
Here are a small selection of the photos the children took. Enjoy! :)
16.9.22
We had our Topic Launch and we introduced our new topic
OURSELVES
and our big question
HOW HIGH CAN I JUMP?
We started by looking at one of our inspirational Olympians Katarina Johnson Thompson
who competes in the HEPTATHALON where she runs, jumps and throws.
So we did the same and throughout the morning realised we could do lots more with
our amazing bodies.
Johnson-Thompson wins Heptathlon Gold | World Athletics Championships 2019 | Doha Moments
Katarina Johnson-Thompson set a new British record in claiming gold in the heptathlon at the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships in Doha. Johnson-Thompson set new PBs in four events to set the new record of 6981 points and move to 6th on the all-time list.
We then had a go at running, jumping and throwing too!

13.09.22 Rainbow Day
We had a fabulous first Rainbow Day of the year. We listen carefully to the story about Elmer the patchwork elephant and talked about all her colours and how it was good to be different. We talked about the colours in the rainbow, sang the rainbow song and also discovered how a rainbow is made. We talked about what our favourite colour is, and why we like it. We finished off our Rainbow Day by making rainbow sprinkle biscuits and when they were dry we got to eat them too!
8&9.9.22 We were introduced to our CLASS AUTHOR Tom Fletcher and really enjoyed exploring his books and his music with his band McFly.
A theme that will be running through everything we do this year is
WELLBEING.
To help all of our children understand and begin to share these feelings we are introducing the story The Colour Monster and using this character to represent the different feelings we can have.
There is an electronic copy of the book below and photos of the activities we took part in this week.
The Color Monster - Read Aloud by Mr. Joshua Brooks
5-9.9.22 We had a fantastic first week getting to know everyone and welcoming all of our new friends.
