Reception - F2 Autumn 2

 Team Letter - Team Rainbows - Autumn 2 - 2022-23.docx.pdf

CONGRATULATIONS to this half term's SHINING STAR winners!

CONGRATULATIONS to our RED TED winners this half term!

We have been giving out READING GEMS to all the children who have been reading at home. Keep up the fantastic work and we will see which team wins!

19-22.12.22 The last week of school was a time to celebrate! We had lots of fun with our own Team Rainbow party, met Santa and joined Team Bancroft for some karaoke and games with Mrs Francis. It really was the most wonderful time of the year!

Team Rainbow's Christmas party morning started with balloons!

We then played games!

Then we were very lucky and met Santa who gave us a present from under the tree.

9.12.22 THANK YOU to everyone who came and supported our Winter Fun Morning!

8.12.22 Kevin the Carrot came to visit for the morning and Team Rainbow voted on their favourite of his Christmas adverts. We had lots of fun!

30.11.22 It was that time again! We all had lots of fun acting out this half term's TRADITIONAL TALE for all of Team Rainbow! It was fantastic to hear them all join in with the story of the Three Little Pigs especially when the Big Bad Wolf tried to blow down the houses!

18.11.22 In Time to Shine we were inspired by Andy Warhol's colourful paintings and had a go at making our own using pictures and photos of Pudsey!

18.11.22 We raised money for Children in Need in the spottiest way we could! We dressed up, drew spots all over our playground, made our own coloured spots and drew Pudsey's on them and danced along with our favourite CBeebies characters. It was hard work but worth every minute. Thank you to everyone who donated some Pennies for Pudsey.

17.11.22 This year we are taking part in the Children's Book Award and Judith from the Library visited Team Rainbow to read the three stories we have to choose from. We all listened very carefully and voted on which one we enjoyed listening to the most. Judith then left the books with us to add to our collection in school as a thank you for our help. What a lovely morning! :)

11.11.22 We celebrated Remembrance Day by first finding out why it is important to remember and say thank you to all those people who fought to keep us safe and those who still are. We loved watching the Poppy Field animation which allowed us to ask lots of questions about war and understand how people must have felt. After this we made sure we all made a poppy and we took part in a 2 minute silence with the rest of the school.

11.11.22 In Time to Shine we were inspired by sculpture artist Augusta Savage and we made our own poppy sculptures to create our own poppy field using plastercine.

10.11.22 This week's Vipers book was The Enormous Turnip and we had a go at creating our own version!

4.11.22 Time to Shine was an opportunity to be inspired by the artist Kara Walker and we used silhouettes to create our own massive firework artwork.

4.11.22 We had our Reading Gems Launch and met other children in our new teams. Mrs Howell and Mrs Straw shared their favourite stories with us and we took part in the badge competition too!

4.11.22 We celebrated Bonfire Night by creating some fireworks scratch art.

3.11 22 Our Topic Launch Day was a fantastic day! We looked at SPECIAL TIMES and SPECIAL PLACES and what that means to the children. We then introduced our BIG QUESTION Will you read me a story? and explored a variety of traditional tales and fairy tales and why sharing them can be a very special time for us all.

We had fun dressing up in a variety of characters!

We made a fairy tale castle!

We did lots of printing to create a fairy tale castle for our topic display!

We also took part in a green screen activity ready for us to be put on our display!

1.11.22 We looked back at our class reads author from last half term, Tom Fletcher and talked about which of his books are our favourites and why.
