Nursery and Reception Team Rainbows
The sun is here!
Welcome back after a lovely hot and sunny half term.
We have a very busy few weeks ahead of us with lots of fantastic and exciting things happening to finish the year off together!
STAFF UPDATE
There are no changes this half term with staff within the unit and we are happy to say that Mrs Page will continue to be Nursery teacher (and continuing in Reception) for the rest of the summer term with the help of Miss Young on a Thursday and Friday. Miss Warrington, Miss Brown and Mrs Straw will continue to be joined by Miss Hall, Miss Hobbs and Mrs Cobb to ensure all of the children in Team Rainbow have access to our provision in a fun and safe way.

READING
In Nursery we will be changing your child’s reading books every Tuesday and Friday but please encourage your child to bring their bags every day. We will be giving a Ted’s Pals to your child when you have read with your child at home on 20 different times, on different days, and written in their diaries. Your support with this is valuable and we really appreciate you spending the time to share a book with your child regularly to help them grow into early readers.
In Reception we ask that your child brings their book bags every day. We will be spending time with every child throughout the week to share a book and help them to use their phonics to read at their level.
When you have read with your child at home on 25 different times, on different days, and written in their diary they will win a Red Ted Bear and accessories.
All children’s books will be changed once a week.
As most of you are aware, we moved from reading diaries to recording a child’s reading at home on a new app called Boom Reader which also allows children to collect gems. If you are already giving it a go, thank you for your understanding and patience whilst we continue to change over our systems.
Let us know if you need any help in the meantime.
HOME LEARNING
We send Home Learning with your child every Friday and this will involve either a talk question or a practical activity. It would be wonderful if you could support us in completing these with your child and please remember to bring back the sheets and any additional work, photos or models they have done so we can celebrate their efforts in school too! Now that Class Dojo is also set up you can post photos, videos or any work your child does at home on there as well. It will be regularly checked by staff and shared in class.
Please look at the sections for weekly updates.
