Our term so far.

Autumn term.

During the first part of the autumn term, our main focus is settling children in to their new setting with their new friends. We spend time showing them our nursery routines, allow them to explore the provision and understand how to use and look after our resources. Independent skills are a really important part of coming to school so we encourage children to have a go themselves but staff are always on hand to support if needed. It would be great if you could support us with encouraging your child to put their coat on and off and how to get themselves undressed to use the toilet. We know that children are all different and develop at their own pace so please let us know if your child needs a little extra help in this area and we can work together to support them.

Halloween party week. We have had so much fun this week! Halloween party consisted of games, funny bones stories, pumpkin exploration, chocolate apples and lots of fun!

We're going on a bear hunt. Michael Rosen. We have really enjoyed this book. Take a look at our bear hunt photos!

The Three Little Pigs. One of our special books in Nursery this term.

Maths. This week we have been learning all about the number 1. (What 1 looks like, sounds like and using our fingers to count)

Class Dojo

Please download the Class Dojo app and log onto your child's account. You can communicate with us via Class Dojo, however we do not use the points system on there this year.

Phonics.

In nursery we will use the principal of phase 1 phonics, listening to sounds in the environment, listening to one another, sitting and following simple instructions which will develop their listening and attention skills. Following on from this we will be following our school phonics scheme of Little Wandle.
